About The Event
Please join us for Financially Ever After: A Magical Holiday Journey of Empowerment, an extraordinary event dedicated to fostering education, entrepreneurship and financial empowerment among our children and our teens. We believe that teaching children about financial responsibility can be both educational and enjoyable. So, let’s have a holly, jolly time while we learn about the importance of saving money, budgeting, and responsible spending.
There will be age-appropriate financial literacy programming for all of our children. Additionally, there will be other fun-filled activities, games, and family photos.
The event will focus on the following pillars:
Educational Empowerment: The children will engage in interactive programming tailored to various age groups, focusing on the essential skills of personal finance and entrepreneurship. For our children and teens (Groups 4 and 5), we will host a panel discussion entitled “Cha-Ching!: Maxing My Christmas Cash” panel discussion on the importance of starting financial empowerment activities today as a student, student-athlete or young entrepreneur. The panel discussion will include a representative from J.P. Morgan Private Bank to discuss saving and investing now and in the future; Kevin Clark, CEO of Next Game Advisors LLC, to discuss how student athletes can maximize NIL (name/image/likeness) and minimize risk; and real-life perspective from a young entrepreneur. There will be an opportunity for our children and teens to meet local black business owners during the Nubian Christmas Market.
Cultural Celebration: We are proud to host our first Nubian Christmas Market, where local artisans will showcase products inspired by, and reflective of, African and African American heritage. Further our children and teens will explore the legacy and history of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) through interactive activities on how HBCUs contributed to the economic empowerment in the Black community and broader society.
Come and enjoy great food and music and be prepared to do some early holiday shopping at our Nubian Christmas Market. And…. if the children have made the Nice List this year, there may also be a special guest.
Lunch and dessert will be served.
